Base prices of non-commissioned work.

General
Commissioned work is painted exclusively by Fontaine Jacobs, in oils or mixed media, on canvas or linen.

Fees: Each commission is quoted individually. The base price for a painting featuring one subject is between $500- $550. This fee is for a canvas approximately 16 x 24 inches. Smaller Canvases are less while larger canvas, additional subjects, intricate detail, diptychs or triptychs, will add to the price.

Procedure: The initial consultation takes place between the artist and client. A rough concept of the painting is discussed, as well as the approximate size of the canvas, pose, clothing and degree of formality. Afterwards Fontaine will present the client with a quote. This is sometimes possible over the phone or through email as circumstances allow.

Sitting: Fontaine will meet with the client to discuss details of the commission and take several photographs. Commissions may be done with client provided photos if the quality is adequate for painting.

Completion: Times for completion can vary, although the artist expects a turnaround time of approximately twelve weeks. Upon completion, the balance remaining will be due. Portraits are unframed. Crating, shipping and insurance, state or other applicable tax, and the artist's travel and accommodation are extra.
